There are many advantages to buying handmade this season. First thing I always remember is that someone actually put love into the item. Things that come off of a production line may never have been touched by human hands and so no one put love into it. Also, you know that someone wouldn’t sell something that they wouldn’t use for their own family, so you know it’s safe. With the rash of lead based toys that have been recalled this past year you want to know that the items are safe. I think that it is just better to buy handmade and support the people that are doing what they love to do. It doesn’t matter if they are fully supporting themselves, making their items on the side hoping to be able to do it full-time, or just getting started while working a full-time job. If someone has handmade it, you know it’s good!
